Microwave Cleaning Tips
Microwaves give you the ability to cook foods fast, but unfortunately, they get dirty even faster. There is an easy solution though to keep your microwave clean and smelling fresh.
One of the easiest ways to clean the microwave is to mix a solution of one cup of warm water, a tablespoon of vinegar and one to two drops of dish soap in a microwave safe bowl. Heat the solution in the microwave for about four minutes. Let it stand for about fifteen minutes and then wipe out the microwave with a damp sponge. You’re done! The solution coupled with the steam not only loosens the stuck on food, but it also deodorizes.
You can also use a similar technique with ¾ of warm water and lemon juice in a microwave safe dish. Heat for two or three minutes and then wipe clean. This a good method for routine freshening after use.
Another method of cleaning a microwave is to use a wet sponge. Heat the sponge in the microwave for about 2 minutes and then wipe out the microwave. This not only loosens the mess, but it kills the bacteria that is living in the sponge.
There are no longer any excuses for not cleaning out the microwave. These simple techniques practically do the job for you.
