The following meditation is useful for strengthening you visualization and focusing skills, as well as for strengthening the connection you have with your crystal ball. (Please note that this can be done just as well with a scrying mirror, or any other similar tool.)

Sit comfortably, with your crystal set up in front of you. The lighting shouldn't be too bright, but be sure it isn't dark enough for you to fall asleep either.

Breathe in a 4-4-4-4 pattern. (Inhale for a slow count of four, hold for four, exhale for four, inhale again)As you breathe look at the ball, but don't concentrate on it. Relax. Let your thoughts slip away, until eventually you are no longer counting your breaths.

When you feel you've reached a relaxed meditative state allow your eyes to focus on the crystal ball. Visualize a tiny flame inside. Watch as it grows to fill the space inside the ball. Attempt to focus on the flame without actively thinking about it. Watch it flicker and move about, but do not come out of your meditative state.

After a few minutes you may want to experiment with changing the flame's colour, or visualizing fiery shapes rather than a simple flame.

When you are done, visualize the flame dying down, first to an ember, and then to nothing at all. Begin to concentrate on your breathing again, using the same 4-4-4-4 pattern you used to go into the meditation. Slowly bring yourself back to a normal state of consciousness. When you are done it is a good idea to eat something small, perhaps a cracker or two.

Writing Prompt

How succesful were you in this meditation? Did you find it difficult, or was it easy for you? Do you feel that you accomplished anything? What reactions do you have to what you experienced? Do you plan to continue using the meditation?

As always I hope you've enjoyed the article. Blessed be.
