Over the last week, a couple of incidents have come to light that makes me think that maybe we, as a world, need to come together for a mass hug.
The first is this video that's been circulating the internet showing, supposedly, a Russian business office of some kind, where suddenly this one guy goes berserk and starts attacking everything, people included. It runs a little over 3 minutes, and there was even a second recording from a different angle that helped show some of what was going on from another perspective. The jury is still out as to whether that was real or not, but to date no one has been able to disprove it.
We follow that up with a young man in Japan, around 25 years old, who is quoted as saying he was tired of life, tired of everything, drove a rented truck into a crowd of people on purpose, then got out of the car and started stabbing people. By the time anyone could stop him he'd stabbed at least 18 people; 7 of them were fatal.
It would seem that tensions are high, and with everything that's going on in the world these days, I'm not surprised. In America, we have our own issues that are driving us crazy (let's start and end with gas prices), and I'm sure many of us would like to lash out at someone physically if we thought we could get away with it.
So, maybe a group hug, a way to physically let off some steam as well as show some commiseration with others, might help get the job done. Okay, I haven't quite figured out the logistics yet; there has to be an engineer in the house, right? But who does't feel better after a hug? Maybe we can ask Dr. Phil to do the commencement speech; I'd like that.
Yeah, a mass calm down; that would work.
