Marketing/sales tips for small business

Here’s some more great tips for all of you in small business. Don’t get disillusioned by all of those big business’ out there. Just follow these tips and you can do anything – good selling!

Tip 3. In this day and age, with modern communication techniques, it is always possible to be easy to contact. You really need a mobile or cell phone to keep in touch with your office and have customers keep in touch with you. Consider this, maybe your partner who looks after the office has to leave from time to time, after all that’s fair and you can’t be tied to an office all day particularly when you are on your own. This is the time you have the phone diverted to your cell or mobile phone. Believe me the customer is very impressed when they reach you direct.

Tip 4 . Mobile/cell phone etiquette-Don’t take your phone with you to make a sales call unless it is turned off! There are some exceptions to this such as illness in the family or wife expecting a baby, in these circumstances always tell your customer. Trust me they won’t mind, but they will mind if you are continually interrupted with the ringing of the phone. Remember there are few occasions when people can’t wait for 15 to 20 minutes for your reply.

Tip 5. More mobile phone things - Record a simple business like message on your phone as people want to know who they have got through to, it may be something like this “Hi this is John from XYZ Stationary, sorry I can’t take your call just now but please leave your name, phone number and a short message and I will get back to you very shortly
