"Mama,You Smell Like a Booger!"

If you read my recent blog entry (click here to read it), you'll note that my two-and-a-half-year-old son has a penchant for bathroom humor. Here are some of his latest jokes (which are all similes):

During diaper changes -

"Poop looks like chocolate!"
"Poop looks like pudding!"
"Poop looks like quiche!"

This last one was interestingly appropriate due to an uncharacteristic coloration of the stool. Interestingly enough, he makes these remarks without actually seeing his dirty diaper.

I believe his first comment, about poop being like chocolate, was genuine. I reacted with disgust, of course, which was my mistake. Now at poopy diaper changes he makes his statements with a huge grin, waiting to see my reaction.

Yesterday, when I was putting on his shoes, he came up with the all-time classic - "Mama, you smell like a booger!" I told him that wasn't nice, but I tried not to make a big deal out of it, since I didn't want to hear it again.

Then I went and put on some deodorant, just in case.
