Pc Building Part 2

In part two of my pc building guide i will discuss processors. Processors are the brains of the computer. The faster it is, the better the Pc will perform. Now there are two companies contending for the market; Intel which im sure you've heard of, and AMD. They both have there ups and downs, but for a first time builder i always recommend Intel as they are simpler. A processor had a core clock speed which is a number like 1.2, 2.8 or 3.4. The higher the number the faster the processor. I like to use a 2.8Ghz processor because i personally dont believe you can even tell the difference between a 2.8 and a 3.4 but Intel says theres a difference(Yeh right, they just want to charge more money). Also, a processor has a socket number, the two main ones for intel are 478 and 775 or suometimes referred to as socket "T". This is crucial in that a 478 wont fit in a motherboard designed to hold a 775 and visa-versa. Next time I'll discuss motherboards, until then go to newegg.com and look at some processors and get a feel for the different kinds.
