Lose Your Mind & Perceive Your Heart: a Yoga/Qigong Practice

qigong | Vijnanabhairrava Tantra | YOGA

Verse 26 of the Vijnanabhairava Tantra suggests a lovely Yoga/Qigong practice:

Quote:
With a relaxed body when exhaling and inhaling, lose your mind and perceive your heart, the energy center where the absolute essence of Bhairava flows.

So the practice is to notice our breathing, the inhales following the exhales, the exhales following the inhales ... and as we do this to "scan" our physical bodies, and let go, melt away any tension we find (say in our neck or shoulders or jaw, or back or belly) until our body feels quite relaxed. And as we relax our body like this to "lose our mind," i.e. to relax our thinking process a bit, also ... (most people are thinking, most of the time! which takes quite a bit of energy) ... And then to "perceive our heart" which is an energy center where "the absolute essence of Bhairava flows." In other words, it's in the very core of our heart that the Divine lives ... and we can touch, we can perceive, we can feel this Divine essence directly, simply by relaxing, paying attention to our breathing, and placing our attention in the heart center ... Give it a try!
