While you’re taking a stroll around Liverpool’s city centre, be sure to call in to Williamson Square
This is a popular area for locals and visitors alike, and is located between Church Street and Queen Square. It is here you will find this wonderful arching water jet fountain, a feature enjoyed by children of all ages, especially in the summer sunshine
The square has a very cosmopolitan feel, with bars and cafes with seating outside, and a great place to take a breather in between all that shopping!
Speaking of shopping, the St John’s shopping precinct is also adjacent to the square, and is very easy to find, just head towards St John’s Beacon, pictured below (you can't miss it)
Williamson Square is also home to the Liverpool Playhouse Theatre, the oldest repertory company in the country, and Charles Dickens once performed here when it was known as the Theatre Royal
The Playhouse Theatre is another of the many listed buildings of Liverpool and is listed as a Grade II
Of course, as Williamson Square is located in the heart of Liverpool city centre, you have a whole host of shops and stores to choose from, including the fabulous Liverpool Football Club’s Supporters shop, which sells all things ‘red’, so if you decide to ‘go the match’, you can pick up your scarf from here!
Whilst you’re in this area of the city you may also like to visit:
The Cavern Quarter
China Town
The Albert Dock
The Beatles Story
The Tate Gallery
The Three Graces
Can’t wait to see you la!
