All these pictures were taken this morning - this is Queen Victoria feeling the chill!

More on this statue

So here’s another in a series of articles I am planning to share with you in reference to the 2008 European Capital of Culture, the city of Liverpool here in the United Kingdom

The plan is, I’m going to research places of interest around the city, then get out and about and visit these places, take some photographs, and then post an article about each place

I’m hoping this will be a useful travel guide for visitors to the city, without giving too much away because I don’t want to spoil any surprises for you!

Liverpool residents awoke to this unusual sight today – overnight the city has been covered in a blanket of snow

So I wrapped myself up and ventured off round Gateacre Village to bring you these snaps of Gateacre Village in the snow

Queen Victoria vs The Beatles

I suppose the good thing about Queen Victoria statues is that they usually have a figure a lot like my old Granny's. That's very PC. I'm glad they didn't use supermodels as stand-ins.

There's no comparison between the Beatles and Queen Vicky, of course. They taught me about love being all I need and world peace. QV was into Empire and we are still trying to undo the damage she did. In the real scale of things I don't have to tell you who I think were greater.

If the value of each human being is equal to the value of the one you love why would you ever participate in killing by war or any other activity with deadly intent. http://bloggerparty.com/blog/xingtiao (general but centred on China) http://www.soulcast
