Liberal Blogger Views Crisis In Lebanon (by BigBadJohnny)

Hezbollah has taken control of Lebanon, and is throwing bombs on Israel. Not on Palestine, on Israel. The Iranian President , Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, with the support of the reigning Shah, Ayatollah Khomeini has been most outspoken demanding and resolving the destruction of Israel. Syria is giving support to Hezbollah to Lebanon, toward their goal, the destruction of Israel.

After all these years, the issue may still center on "linkage". During the administration of George Bush, Sr., the Arab Nations made a resolve to exorcise the nations of the new world, from what they viewed as their united nation.
Shiites and Sunnis alike support Hezbollah. ironically, this new thrust to eliminate the non-Arabs is uniting the Muslim sects. Although solidly Shiite, Hezbollah has the support of the Sunnis.
Some would encourage Hezbollah to embrace diplomatic solutions. But the New World as consistently rejected diplomatic solutions.
During the administration of George Bush,Sr., the Arab nations took notice of the American/Great British presence in Kuwait. Kuwait is not an ancient city, but a modern industrial oil drilling conglomerate.
During that period, the Arab nations took notice of the presence of Israel on the Mediterranean coast.
The Bible is foremost, History. It tells of the slaves from Egypt crossing The Red Sea, and establishing roots in the Arab world. These indigenous people don't accept the Israeli presence; the Israelis, of course, never made an effort toward assimilation.
During the Bush administration, the Arabs suggested a massive conference with all involved nations, including Great Britain, and the United States, to discuss and perhaps resolve this overriding issue of Non-Arab presence, this issue of "Linkage".
George Bush Sr. and the Modern World refused the conference, failing to see the point.
The Arab Nations, The Muslims, have tolerated the insults to their religion and culture, have tolerated the pilfering of their oil, and are currently being run over rough-shod by the United Nation supported Alliance. In a two month period recently, 6000 Muslims were killed. This number includes Doctors, Professors, and other educated people. If the Iraqis had been allowed to develop, with fair prices for oil, they might have been able to achieve a modern society, like Saudi Arabia. But this was not allowed.
Now, in view of the continued insults, the on-going devastation, the continuing disregard for Arab culture, the Muslims are uniting to forcefully expel the invaders.
"We do not negotiate with terrorists!", is not the solution. Silence breeds mis-understanding.
This conflict, of Biblical proportions, will not go away. Only diplomacy, and wisdom, can save the lives of Men, Women, and Innocent Children.

AMEN !!!

When I was stationed in Saudi during the early 1950's, right after WWII, I had the opportunity to visit many middle eastern countries including Lebanon, India, Pakistan, Yemen, Khartoum-N. Africa, Muscat, Bahrein and all of the Arabs in those countries were friendly and respected us.

We have alienated the Arab Nation by sending billions and military aid to the Israelies and we have turned our back on the Palastinians. G. W. Bush went in thinking he could clean up the mess his father made and he found out that he has really started a mess over there that our grandchildren will have to pay for and clean up. I believe he will go down in history as one of the worst presidents the citizens of the United States have had to tolerate.

It is a known fact that he stole the first election through the efforts of his brother and Rummy, Cheney, Rice and the rest of the Bush Administration should be run out of Washington. I don't know if we can handle another year and a half of his lies and incompetance or not.

Just the opinion of an old Vet,
Rob
