Legalising prostitution in New Zealand a few years ago has had little effect on the number of people in the sex industry there.

The Prostitution Law Review Committee has made the finding after a review of the Prostitution Reform Act.

It has also found the law has had a marked effect on safeguarding the right of workers to refuse clients and practice, with a majority of workers now more likely to report incidents of violence to police.

The committee says the Prostitution Reform Act has not increased the number of underage people working in the sex industry and has in fact raised awareness of the problem.

This actually makes sense to me Hutt

there is only one place that allows it legally here in the USA...Las Vegas...and Vegas has it down to a fine art. There is less disease and less crime because of it too. The "girls" are checked by doctors all the time and so they tend to be safer than the poor unfortunates that have to work with pimps and streets. It's not something that will ever go away being as it's been around since biblical times...they may as well legalize it, so that it can be treated like any other job...benefits etc.

Yes, it has benefits in...

health and safety - being employees they are covered by our Occupational Safety & Health laws. There are still pros and their pimps in side streets, but the only real problems are those women brought in from overseas - asia mostly.

And the reason that is an issue Hutt

is because my bet is most, if not all, those poor unfortunate Asian women, are there because of the rampant sex slavery...I know it sounds wild, but it does happen. It's a dirty little secret and one that should be addressed.

International sex trade...
