Klong - the Thai restaurant

dinner | new york city | restaurant | thai food

We had Thai food at Klong last night for dinner. The prices were reasonable and the portions were decent sized. We ordered the grilled squid legs, green curry puff, pad thai, and mint fried rice. The grilled squid legs were actually tasty, I am not a big fan of squid so my boyfriend ate most of them. It came with a garlic spicy sauce and I used that as a dipping sauce for my curry puffs. The curry puffs were filled with potato and chicken, although I would've liked to have the puffs come with its own dipping sauce and perhaps not just three of them but four puffs. The pad thai was eaten together with the mint fried rice. (We tend to eat like that) The rice was fried with mint leaves to have that minty fragrance. It tasted quite good together with the pad thai. The pad thai had a very sweet tomato paste type of taste to it (well to me it did) and wasn't too dry or too watery. The way pad thai should be. On top of the food, we both ordered thai iced tea. It came in very long tall glasses filled with ice and the milky blend of thai tea and cream. I thought the tea was too sweet. But that's just a personal taste of mine, I prefer my tea to not be drenched in sweets.
