There is a lot of excitement building in my home these days. I don't know if it is because we live so close to Washington, D.C. and the political winds blow west to us, but my two older daughters are really getting into the polical process. They have actually been listening to the news about "Super Tuesday" and were telling me this morning that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are separated by only 1% of the Super Tuesday votes so far. Virginia doesn't get to vote until next Tuesday, and they are really trying to influence how I am going to vote. My husband has removed himself from all of the election talk because he is a Republican and is following that bag of hot air, Rush Limbaugh's advice, and will not be voting in any election. I, on the other hand am excited as well, but still have not decided which Democratic candidate to vote for. They are both smart, both really seem like they can make some real changes in our country. For me, they both represent hope. The girls want me to vote for Hillary Clinton so I will probably make up my mind at the last minute next week. I am just so pleased that the girls are interested in how a Democracy works--it's so cool to watch them form their opinions and then express them. They also think that next year when all the elections are finished and the new president takes the oath of office, we will be down there to witness it. I'm not sure that will happen, but you never know--as the girls say, "That would be so cool!"
