Keep my mom in your thoughts.

My mom had an accident today, and she's not doing so well. Please keep her in your thoughts. She fell off the top of a ladder and scaffolding while she was painting, and she was medi-flighted to the hospital. She's spending the night in ICU. More details later, and thank you in advance.

Ah, crap.
So sorry to hear that. The same thing happened to a neighbor of mine when I was growing up. I guess painting accidents are common. Best wishes to your mom for a speedy recovery.

Thanks everyone. She's much
Thanks everyone. She's much more alert today, but still no word on when she moves from the ICU to a normal hospital room. She has some problems with her knee, she broke her wrist, and she's got several skull fractures. But nothing seems to be serious enough that they are going to do surgery.

My prayers for your mom....
I'm sorry to hear abt that...
I'll pray for your mom to have a fast recovery.

ouch
Add mine to the list. Tell your mom, next time, to practice being a cat. You're supposed to land on your feet, not your head. Head landings only work if you have a head like mine. Hard to do much damage to solid rock.
Who said acrophobia is unreasonable?
Another Prayer
I hope she's better and continues to heal.
Update
She gets out of ICU tommorow, and was able to "eat" if you consider chicken broth and jello food. She's a lot more responsive, but still mostly sleepy. Best of all, she's worried about her appearance, so how bad can it be (my mom isn't known for her vanity).
But she is acknowledging that it is going to be a long time before she feels normal again. And while that's pretty obvious, because she's not really a complainer, it drives home just how hurt she is. For example, she said she had a headache and asked for some aspirin. The nurse asked her to rate her pain, and she said, "Oh, a two." My sister and I laughed, because it can't be that bad at a two. And then she drops that comment a little later. So, obviously, she recognizes that her brain isn't even close to processing how bad this hurts or how much damage it did. And that's good because she is able to realize how much damage it was, and bad because she realizes what is ahead will be difficult.
Thanks again to all of you. It means a lot to me, and I'm sure to her as well.

Your Mom
I guess I'm a new friend.
Today is July 8. I hope she's feeling better.
