Just how is this justified - your call my American friends...

Texas and God love to execute?
Texas will almost certainly reach the grim total of 400 executions in 25 years this month, far ahead of any other American state. The toll is testament to the influence of the state's conservative evangelical Christians and its cultural mix of Old South and Wild West. Some critics say the South can be seen in the racial bias of death sentencing, more than 41 per cent of the inmates on death row in Texas are black, but blacks are only about 12 per cent of the state's population. In America God is a little different, he wears a big cowboy hat and a semi automatic hand gun, delivers justice via an electric chair and apparently has an IQ of 3, the ‘turn the other cheek’ and ‘love each other’ God was replaced in favour of the furiously stupid and psychopathic God by popular vote in America in 1832, how one can balance the apparent ‘goodness’ of God with a corrupt death penalty system that seems to have a penchant for executing black people is something only a bible thumping Texan could understand. Amen.

Well God... huttriver10
apparently has taken a vacation(or leave of ab-sense) in
the Lone Star state. Just one of many theories(and maybe an unpopular one) I'm sure.
Our small state has no death penalty, but when weighing
in on the subject, one should..I think consider pedifiles
crimes of murder and other hate related,or murderous
crimes committed. What race are the other 59% of offenders
on death row in Texas and what are their crimes I wonder?
You do make some very valid points hutts' as many of those individuals
for the most part are black, or other poor people depending upon
court appointed lawyers and no "Johnie Cochran" is going
to defend those poor folks, so there is no doubt most have not been defended well in the courts.
2cat~ Often times it seems... no matter how hard or deeply you stir the perverbial pot...there is simply no sense to be found contained any where inside the ugly mess huttriver.
Christianity was birthed out of an execution
People throughout history have claimed to know and understand what God wants,
People also have the egotistical belief that somehow God NEEDS their help. That somehow they have some inside information about God's plan... Did God ever say he had a plan?
If God made one of us he made all of us, if he loves one of us then he loves all of us. To think that there is a perfect being out there and he is somehow consumed by human bloodlust is ridiculous. Killing is wrong even without God telling you so. This execution thing is what the people in power do when they don't know what to do to maintain control, they revert to violence and absolution.
How does one subscribe to a ONE God who made us all and by the way he wants you to kill (how fortunate and coincidental,) the people YOU don't like.
Persons who believe in a God by definition segregate themselves from others and evelate themselves in their minds allowing them to demonize or dehumanize anyone, even each other. (I am a better christian than her)
Moses used God to kill thousands, Joshua did to, the Holy Roman Empire, The Church of England, the Crusades, Manifest Destinity all used God to kill. Christians made Korea, Hiroshima, Sadaam Hussain, and the biggest guns in the world,
Christianity was birthed out an execution and has maintained the bloodbath for 2000 years. The symbol of Christianity is the mark of execution.
Christians killed the aboriganese, the american indian, the Myans, millions of muslims, africans, mexicans, vietnamese, chinese, the Hawaiians, and have oppressed the same.
In Texas, white people don't believe that blacks can be reformed, as they were not welcome or equal in the first place. Sure the law reads right, but the mental attitude of the person signing execution orders is of contempt at the start.
People in Texas think they are special because they believe that they can still secede from the union. This allows Texans the luxury of believing they can become their own country and make up their own rules one day. So, they start acting that way now. The obvious outward prejudice that survives there isn't weakened by the constant flow examples confirming their beief that Blacks haven't the ability to govern themselves.
Texas is too big for its' britches and having lived there I know what would definately put texans back in their place. That would be for the President to announce publicly an formally that Texas will never have the option to and will NEVER leave the Union. The Lone Star State would know it was definitively America's bitch.
Killing is wrong, murder is wrong, Capital punishment is wrong, war is wrong, police killings are wrong, Abortion is wrong, Killing Tookie was wrong, killing Saddam was wrong, killing Usay and Oday was wrong, killing Mcveigh was wrong. Killing Iraqis and Muslims is wrong.
Each of our lives was free and our own, its ends should not be decided upon by another.
We do not understand life, therefore, we cannot truly comprehend its value, so it cannot be the price we pay.
If someone kills and we kill him, we have become him.
Cut of both his arms, allow him Hari Kari, but do not kill him.
You don't punish a rapists by raping him, or a thief by stealing from him. A hooker by hooking her. Jesus spoke out against an eye for an eye.
So many people have been killed in God's name, doesn't He have enough people already? He must have smote billions by now, sent the same to Hell. How is it that all the bad guys aren't dead yet? Oh well, guess there is still some more killing to do.
Love Me.
More of The Geminian!!
Are We STILL "Home of the Brave?"
There's more, Hutts.
Texas is also predominately against abortion, judging it murder. I find that a complete contradiction when veiwed with their stance on the death penalty. Texas is also against gay marriage, which has nothing to do with this discussion but still gripes the heck out of me because they are presuming to judge. The bible-thumpers in Texas have decided that they know what is best for 100% of the population - just ask Dubyah.
Fortunately, I'm at work. Otherwise I'd rant on just like The Geminian did - and rant on baby, I'm right there with ya'!
Yeah
Yeah, the abortion thing really irritates me. They claim that they are for the death penalty and against abortion because the one up for the death penalty is guilty and the other innocent. But that puts a kink in the whole concept of being born in sin, needing forgiveness, etc.
Texas has some mighty fine margaritas and salsa (both courtesy the people to the south that the Texans want to keep out of this country), but that's about all they have going for them. It's a state of f*ck-ups. No offense to my friends in Texas. I'm originally from OK, so you know there's some bias there.
But honestly, what do you do with a state that spawned the worst President in history, and whose greatest monuments celebrate not so great moments- the Alamo and the assassination of a President.

I knew you wouldn't disappoint me...
I loved your comments - the soul of America is well, just the brain has a problem remembering sometimes. Cheers all!
