Judge rules Britney Spears is skanky. But he uses better phrasing than I did.

You can read the article here.

Here is an exerpt:
"'It is clear that plaintiff did not bring this lawsuit because she was falsely accused of acting goofy,' Hart Cole wrote. 'The issue is whether it is defamatory to state that a husband and wife taped themselves engaging in consensual sex.'

The judge went on to conclude that Spears has 'put her modern sexuality squarely, and profitably, before the public eye' in a way that would make it unlikely for the magazine article to be found defamatory."

Because the dictionary defines defamation as "false or unjustified injury to someone's good reputation" is the judge saying that Britney Spears has no good reputation left?

The Supreme Court ruled in 1964 that to prove libel, there has to be "actual malice" when publishing false statements about them. In other words, you have to be trying to damage Britney Spears career. The judge in this case is basically saying that she has ruined her own career to the point that people will believe anything they read about her sex life.

If that doesn't make sense, think of it like this. I could write that Ted Haggard buys drugs and has gay sex, but he has damaged his own credibility to the point that even if he says he hasn't had gay sex, it's hard to believe the guy.

And by the way, Britney, should you get an idea to sue me over this, I am simply reporting the news article in my own words. I am not trying to damage your career, or whatever is left of it. If you take exception to my use of the word "skanky" I would remind you that you are the one who got married to the dude wearing a "Pimps" tracksuit. Perhaps you don't know what "pimp" means, but among normal people, the word "skanky" often follows. At any rate, I am only poking a stick at your enormous butt AND the very idea of celebrity. And that, my dearest, is covered under satire. Ask your lawyer to define it. Right after he watches some more homemade pornos with you. Wow. You really are a class act, ain't ya Miss Spears?

Product of Her Environment

Ol' Britt-Britt is a fine example of most girls her age nowadays. And that Federline boy is the same way. Were they not rich and famous, they'd just be the hot couple in the trailer park.

It's a sad world...

Alrighty. A little Kevin Federline gossip from Jeannette Walls. He recently had a New York concert scheduled. Everyone thought it would be cancelled. Instead, he had to do some serious begging to get them to keep it going. The club holds 1500, and only about 300 showed up. He kept them waiting for three hours because he was hoping more people would show up, but nobody else came. Eventually he went out there and rapped for about 30 minutes. And for most of this, he had no stage presence. He would say "New York" 30 times in a row, or tell them to buy his CD. Ouch!

What is it with

angelface79 Says:

What is it with actors/actresses and homemade sex videos. Lets not forget paris hilton and her "video"

Oh no. Let's forget.

Oh no. Let's forget. PLEASE let's forget. That infamous video is what made her think she had some reason to be in front of a camera.

(And according to a scathing new book, Paris's video was being publicly denounced by mom and dad Hilton, but privately they didn't care. Word is that Paris stands to inherit very little of the Hilton fortune and it was their way of getting her in the media spotlight so she could form a career. :O Allegedly and all that.)

Wow @ Paris News

Man, if that's true, that's one of the worst things I've ever heard in my life! They basically sold her into prostitution to keep her from getting a piece of the "old" money, then? They should be condemned... probably will be, too.

But however she sets in the family eyes, she's not doing so bad. She's rich as hell and I'm certain that very, very little of that is from her "career."

Yeah. I read it and felt

Yeah. I read it and felt sick in the pit of my stomach.

It's not necessarily to keep her from the "old" money. It's that by "old money" standards, they are dirt poor. Furthermore, there are a lot of siblings that are splitting the family fortune, and by the time it gets down to Paris, it's a lot lower than most people suspect. Regardless, she's making some decent money from club appearance fees, so she shouldn't have to do any more porn. There is not enough money in the Universe that you could pay me to be rich...
