Judas Controversy Meshes With Meier's UFO-Linked Gospel
The amazing discovery of an original copy of the Gospel of Judas might have taken some people by surprise, but researcher and publisher George Green says one of his contributing editors had a similar account as early as last year from a dramatically differenct source.
Jim Deardorff, a professor emeritus from Oregon State University, has tracked this material, allegedly coming from a New Age-oriented individual named Billy Meier, who has claimed to be a UFO contactee.
But Meier's version of the Gospel of Judas appearing in the Talmud of Jmmanuel (yes, "Jmmanuel" and not "Immanuel") does appear to include some of the Gospel twists not found in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. For example, the Gospel of Judas does not implicate Judas in the "betrayal" of Jesus. Instead, Jesus is reported to have "set up" Judas for a staged "betrayal."
In any event, all of these issues are worth looking into, if for nothing else, to insure that what we have always perceived to be the clear truth often works out to be not necessarily false, but somewhat distorted, depending on the source material.
