Jose', Can You See? (I'm Kidding) (By BigBadJohnny)

BigBadJohnny's picture

If you are a regular reader of my various and sundry articles, you know that I have many dear friends of Latino extraction. Many have been here (in America) all their lives, and/or for several generations.
When I hear the Star Spangled Banner, my heart swells with pride. "Oh, say, does that Star Spangled Banner yet wave?" "What so proudly we watched, at the twilights last gleaming".?
When a Spanish speaking American hears the "Banner" in his native tounge, he feels the same pride in America. it brings tears to my eyes, it brings tears to his eyes.
So yes, a Spanish language Star Spangled Banner is a wonderful thing!

O Johnny...

Apparently you haven't read the suggested words to the proposed Spanish language Star Spangled Banner. They bring tears to my eyes, all right, but tears
of anger. The new, so-called Star Spangled Banner, in Spanish, is a corruption of our national anthem.
