John Howard to send convicted Aussie terrorist home on private jet

Australia's federal Greens leader has accused Prime Minister John Howard of wasting taxpayers money by flying David Hicks home to Australia in a private jet.

He is a convicted terrorist who fought on the side of the Taliban in Afghanistan; was arrested and left to rot in Guantanamo for years.

Because it is election year in Australia Howard appears to be looking for a sympathy vote from somebody, but I don't know who?

A veil of secrecy hangs over Hicks' release. He is due to be handed over to Australian authorities at the end of the month. May 29 is the agreed deadline.

Why spend so much money to transport this guy?

Well, one thought did just occur to me - how would they get him to Australia otherwise. Prisoner transport planes are pretty expensive,I hear. Hmmm....just a thought.

It's amazing what politicians will do when elections roll around.

this guy had better end up in prison, because he plead guilty to what he was charged with.
