Job Interviews

Job interviews when you are a life model for art drawing classes are almost non-existent. Once you can say that you have some experience about the only question left is that of availability. Once in a rare while someone will have an unusual request and I will get asked if I am agreeable to whatever is being proposed. That is about it.

Most job interviews are not so easy. Most are rather intimidating and require some preparation. I calculated that if you are going for a job interview that pays $20.00 per hour and you expect to work 40 hours per week for 15 years, there is more than 1/2 a million dollars on the line. And this is before benefits and raises. ( do raises still happen or is that a thing of the past?) So there is reason to be nervous and reason to be prepared.

Being nervous however is not conduicive to having the interview go well. Hence the reason for proper preperation. Proper preperation gives you the confidence to go into the interview and sell yourself. It is not enough to simply have the skills required to do the job, you must also be able to convince the person doing the hiring that you are the person that they are looking for. Fortunately, if you go in prepared, you have a huge advantage as most people do not do their homework beforehand. ( I do not understand this?)

So if you are about to have a job interview I wish you best of luck. ( and hey, the link I have at the bottom provides some fee tips for getting that job offer.)

Talk like friends

Most people view job interviews as interrogations. But they're not.

The interviewer is just trying to get a feel for you and your abilities. The best way for that is to be like old friends.

They ask you questions. You ask them questions. It show you're interest and that you can handle yourself under pressure
