Jesse, Jesse, Jesse....Big Brother Is Always Watching....And Listening

apology | news | Obama | Rev.Jesse Jackson

Well, it never ceases to amaze me that people just haven't gotten the clue that no matter where you are , where go, and even what you say, wispering or not, it will be viewed, and heard. Big brother is watching, and yes, now, listening.
Was I shocked that a Reverend made such a horrible statement to another person, who by the way, looked extremely uncomfortable hearing it, not at all.
These days what priests, or pastors, or reverends say and do doesn't surprise me in the least.
Does it piss me off...your damn right it does. They strive to be these holier-than- thou, upstanding people and then they turn around and say something so hypocritical and racially stupid you just want to punch them in face. You know, just to bring them back down to earth a little.
What gets me about this whole thing is I heard the good Reverend Jesse Jackson saying that he has supported Obama since he was a senator and through his campaigne thus far and he considers him a good and close friend. Wow, I would hate to be his enemy, god only knows what would spew from his mouth then.
Here's the other thing I thought about with this whole thing. Jackson says he apologizes for the comment he made while the mic was "hot". Now, do you people really think he would be apologizing if no one actually heard him say what he said? No way. He only apologized only because he got caught saying it. He said exactly what he meant and felt.
Obama accepts his apology, but he surely knows that Jackson meant what he said. Given he is running for President though, I can see him being the bigger man and accepting the apology. But, do you really think he accepts it? I am sure this has tarnished any friendship he had with the good rev.
My self, I would tell him to go F*** himself, but I am not running for president either.

Jesse Jackson did a very stupid thing Ammorton!

Despite his "apology" coming across as phony it also made him look like a bitter old man...one who couldn't make it to the presidency and resents Obama for coming as far as he has. I LOVE the fact that you are writing like this! We rarely get to see your political views here, and I for one applaud you:D

Yes I know Sassy's.....I tend to stay

out of the political stuff only because I have always thought that if I didn't know enough about something, I didn't want to look like a fool and say something ya know. I am the same about religion. I want to know exactly what I am talking about befor opening up my mouth. I know there is a blogger here that tends to do this....alot. You probably know who I am refering too.
At any rate, this kind of stuff just gets under my skin so bad, and when I heard the rev's statement on the news, well it just pissed me off enough to blog about it.
Thanks for the good comment to...

I have to agree with you 100%, Ammorton.

Jackson is just sorry that he got caught. And to make matters worse, he was so wrong - so very wrong - in his opinion that Obama is talking down to blacks. The Right Rev. Jesse Jackson has been keeping blacks down for years, encouraging them to fight "The Man" instead of encouraging them to take responsibility for themselves and their families, and to expect more of themselves. Now, Obama is doing just that, telling black Americans that they must begin to take responsibility for their lives and the lives of their families and it's destroying the very thing that gives Jackson his power. Because, if you empower black Americans, you take away their need for a rabble rouser like Jackson.

This is the same thing Bill Cosby has been doing for years. He's been going around the country talking to blacks about the need for them to expect more of themselves, to take responsibility for their lives. He hasn't gotten a whole lot of press for it and, I'm guessing, he hasn't really gotten a whole lot of attention from the black community over it. I guess that's why The Right Rev. hasn't felt the need to cut his balls off, too.

But I was very encouraged to hear the hard line Jackson's son took with him. He was completely opposed to what his father said and I'm very impressed that he came out publicly and said so.

Well PW....I haven't heard what his son said

now if your own son can see something wrong and make a statement about it you know it's bad. I mean really...he has really taken steps backwards from the days when I was first following the good Rev. Jesse Jackson. I tend to agree with ya about him being the one that is holding the black people down, at least as of lately. I tend to put him up there with good ole Al Sharpton....another holier than thou asshat, they remind me of each other anymore.

LOL! I agree, Ammorton.

I can't really remember what Jackson's son said but it was scathing. I was actually shocked that he would speak that harshly about his father but, really, Jesse deserved it.

Yeah, Jackson and Sharpton just can't seem to get off that "fight the man" bandwagon. There was a time for it, for damned sure. But now it's time for blacks to stand up and make use of the ground that they have gained and start learning and growing. Jackson and Sharpton seem to want to keep them back in the days when they had to march to be allowed to ride in the front of the bus. It's a damned shame, too. People would listen to those two if they would just change their tune a little.

Hahahaha *sigh* Ammorton!

I do agree with you...some of us just type without thinking for the hell of it, or the practice of typing. I am loud but I tend to at least try to know what the hell I am talking about:)

Hey I read you alot...I would say you know

quite a bit about what your talking about. Not to mention your pretty damn funny about things too. Same with PW and Seanlovett, as well as Catfish. If anything, I learn a little more than I may have know by reading you guys.

Egads Ammorton!

You have got to be the first person that has actually learned anything from me:) Minus my kids of course...but I only have to use threats with them every so often:D

You couldn't know, Ammorton,...

how deeply hurt I've been, devastated actually, by what I'm calling the "fall" of Jesse Jackson in my eyes ever since 1999, when it was disclosed that he fathered that child and paid the woman off with money from Operation PUSH. He used to have his finger on the pulse of black America, and now he's a shell of his image, and I say it that way because, obviously, it was all image, not real at all.

You'd think he would have learned from his Hymietown remark back in 1984, but nope. You'd think that he'd remember when he did his own show on CNN that the mikes are always live, and he was in, so to speak, enemy territory to begin with. No excuse for any of it, though; he's not, nor ever has been, the man I'd thought he was.

And you can't know how disappointed I've been; sigh.
