Jealousy is most often the reason for arguments in a relationship. It is possible for jealousy to be harmless, but sometimes it grows out of control. Is your jealousy out of control? The physical and psychological symptoms of jealousy are:

1) Pain or other discomfort. Examples of this include stomach pain or headaches when your partner is out of sight.

2) Inability to sleep when your partner is gone.

3) A feeling of abandonment by partner or feeling they have cheated on you.

4) Decreased interest in being with others that may lead to full isolation.

Other signs that jealousy is a problem include:

1) Checking partner’s e-mails or telephone messages for signs of unfaithfulness.

2) Spending a lot of time and energy thinking about what your partner is doing and being unable to convince yourself that your fears are unfounded.

3) Wanting to know where your partner is at all times, who’ve they’ve been with, what they did with them and if they enjoyed it. Also wanting to know if the person is attractive or interesting.

4) You don’t feel understood by your partner.

5) You are unhappy with the feeling of jealousy and wish to be freed from it.

Jealousy is often related to anxiety that is associated with being abandoned. This is an issue that needs to be dealt with as soon as possible. It is important to realize that jealousy can be deadly.
