Jasper

Curled in a steel cage
I remember not how long
In the dark, the bars of the cage
Languidly disfiguring my body
Night after night, shivering wet
Faithless, Hopeless
I had at last become beast
Methodical each shift of my weight
Longing for death every second
Like small children wait for Santa
I embraced my impending fate
Twiddling my Thumbs
I can't remember being rescued
Opening my eyes,as though from a dream
Light! Fresh air rushed into my lungs
Then,Her,standing patiently next to me
Struggling to regain my voice
I managed to say, ""how""
Smiling she leaned in and with a kiss
She freed me again and again
