It's too freakin HOT!!! What shall I do?

Okay ya'll, as several of you know, it's HOT on the EAST coast. I dont' remember it being this hot last year. Am I right? Was it? This past week we've had excessive heat warnings first thing in the morning until 8 p.m. WOW! At first when I heard this I thought, yeah right it won't be that hot. Haha, I was wrong.

We tried going to the beach on the first day of the heat advisory but we only stayed for about an hour, that was just too much heat. I even got burned, hubby got it worse though, but his will tan mine won't. :( Not to worry, kids somehow didn't burn.

Yesterday and the day before the kids and I have basically stayed indoors with the shades shut and fan turned on. AC downstairs and upstairs shut off or something I'm guessing from the heat, guess it wasn't prepared to be that hot. I got the upstairs working just fine but not downstairs. So we stay up most days. Kids don't even want to play outside, not even in the sprinkler. That shows ya how much mine hate the heat.

They watch cartoons of course, which brings up a question. Does Blue's Clues now have Steve back? My kids say Steve came back?

So instead we've rented lots of movies and are reading books. Kids saw the Shaggy Dog Movie with Tim Allen, very cute. I watched BloodRayne and something else that I can't recall. Other than that I'm trying to look through old magazines but I'm the type of person that can't read something over again. I don't get my new magazine until next month.

Which brings me to a new topic. What do you think of the magazine subscriptions these days? They are outrageous. I know I'll get a bunch of kids at my house this year for girl scouts or school asking me to subscribe, but last year it cost me $20 for my writer's digest magazine and I didn't get it for 6 months. I was a bit upset, I don't like spending so much unless I'm going to start getting them very soon. Right? Well I did find one that is cheaper, the site is called, MagazinePriceSearch.com and they have a list of all the different places you can subscribe through and the best prices. I don't think any company beats their price but they list them all. I was floored by this. I can purchase my magazine for $12.71 for a full year, that's better than $20 and waiting for 6 months to receive my first copy. There are more than just writer's magazines, they have parenting, automotive, reference, educational, religion and so many more different categories to choose from. Head over there and take a look, they just might have the one you want for much cheaper than you are already paying for.

There are over 2500 magazines listed on the site, over 200 magazines, some that cost only $5 for a subscription, find out if your magazine is in that 200. :)
