I work for a construction management company. Now with all construction jobs this one will soon come to an end, and so the job search begins. I hate looking for a job, its a horendous task and then is followed by numerous interviews, salary and travel comparisons. I think this job search is different however, I need a change. I am undecided about what that change is, which scares me even more.
What happens when you know you need something different and you inevitably know you don't want to work for anyone else? You start looking for ways to go into business logically you say. Well, the problem with that is that requires capital... of which if I had I wouldn't be so concerned with looking for a job. Does it seem like a job in itself looking for a job? It does, and surely we should be paid for this process. I mean Ihave to scour online classifieds, and buy the papers. Then calling the network of people and printing resumes, labeling envelopes and mailing them. Follow-up calls, thank you notes for interviews- really when you think about it, someone could do job searches full time.
Ah.. perhaps thats what I should do, become a head hunter. And so the research continues... I will keep you posted, or offer you a job in the near future.
