It Looks Like Writingup.com has gone down again
I am very much interested in blogging for money. I just wished that I made more doing. Truth be told, I just enjoy the writing and the money that sometimes comes is nice also.
Because I am interested in making money, I have several blogs that I write on various sites. One is about reading 50 books in a year. The other is just a general blog about whatever. The general blog is on Writingup.com. It is a good site, similar to this one, but it is constantly crashing.
Makes it difficult to make money when you can't write.

Speaking of which...
Ever notice that 90% of the traffic on that site comes from highly questionable traffic exchanges or fraudulent click exchanges. Ever wonder why people there are constantly getting their accounts banned by google?
He tries to suck people in by
Saying they can make $10,000 a month of his site. All of the traffic there comes from traffic exchanges which google warns against and click exchanges which are explicitly banned. Hence the waves of people getting their google adsense accounts banned who post there.

Yep, traffic swarm is a no-no
Not as bad as a click exchange, but still increases impressions which advertisers pay for on many sites.
Hmmm
As far as I understand, traffic swarm works simply by having your blog ad shown, therefore getting more people to your blog, NOT by having people click on your ads. So what's wrong with getting more people to see an ad about your site?
Does it say in the google adsense tos that traffic swarm is illegal? I read them but didn't see that (but I didn't know about traffic swarm then). I will disable my account if that is true.

It Really All Depends
Anything that artificially increases page impressions or ad clicks is a no-no. However, normal advertising and promotion is expected and accepted. You really just have to make a conservative judgement of if something falls into the realm of normal advertising and promotion and you should be pretty safe. A simple link or banner exchange sounds completely safe unless there's more to it I don't know. Even some traffic exchange type things might be. But, be careful.
Thanks!
I don't see how traffic swarm artificially increases traffic to the website, but maybe it does - maybe when they click the link to my ad it takes them directly to my blog instead of to a page explaining my blog with an option to link. I don't know since I haven't seen my ad. I think I'll disable it just to be safe. Thanks!
