It Doesn't Take a Genius

Out with the Old: In with the New

It made headlines that the faltering economy and the Iraq War is what's on people's minds. REALLY??? How perceptive! Who woulda thought???

The fact that most Americans voted heavily for Democrats in the '06 election wouldn't be a clue would it?

The fact that those voters have been mostly ignored, walked over, and disappointed wouldn't be a clue would it?

George Bush's poor rating in the polls wouldn't be a clue would it?

The Democratic Congress poor ratings wouldn't be a clue would it?

Our politicians, THE PEOPLE'S PUBLIC SERVANTS, haven't been very sensitive to the wants or needs of ANY Americans.

Our schools are in a mess. We are in a war NO ONE wants except Halliburton and the munitions industry. The health care system in this country is in crisis because the average working American cannot afford it any more. The dollar has been so devalued that the average American can't afford to travel outside the country. No one can afford to drive anymore because gasoline prices just keep rising and people are losing their homes in record numbers.

I can't think of one Republican I would vote for at the moment. (I am a moderate). And quite frankly, I'm not impressed with the Democrats either. They keep running around in circles and haven't accomplished a thing. They should be investigating this war that has sucked the economy dry, left children without insurance, and funneled every available dollar to Iraq.

While all along, our own borders are still unprotected, our armed forces depleted, and every time there is a disaster.....where is the National Guard???OH YEAH......in Iraq......and they have been there for almost 5 years!

The death toll in Iraq is still climbing but the media is mute on the subject. I guess it is OLD NEWS that Americans are still dying over there.

The TRILLIONS that have already been spent on the war could have provided health care for ALL Americans....the best schools for ALL Americans....and put poor kids through college, salvaged homes and even given our troops a raise.

Instead of taking jabs at each other....the politicians need to take a hard look at the mistakes of the last 8 years and talk about reform! HOW will each one clean up this mess? WHAT is his/her plan to clean it up? WHEN will our troops come home? WHO is the best candidate to put the USA back on the right track?

IT SURE ISN'T THE PEOPLE WHO ARE ALREADY IN CONGRESS. VOTE IN SOMEONE NEW AND GET THE COUNTRY BACK ON TRACK! LET CONGRESS KNOW THEY WILL LOSE THEIR JOB IF THEY DON'T LISTEN!!!!!

We let our elected officials know that we weren't happy with their work and we hired new ones. And then those new ones passed an energy bill that Pelosi described as being a real step forward. Ha!!! A shuffle forward that we don't have to take for another 20 years? And in the meantime we are paying $3.00 for a gallon of gas (public transportation is not even on the drawing boards in many places) and we are looking at $4.00 for a gallon of gas in the near future.

I'm going to take a note from Shakespear only I'm changing it to say that, if we are to clean up our world and make it a better place we need to first shoot all the politicians!

We just need to keep voting them out until they listen to their constituents. This governmenti s SUPPOSED to be for the people....I don't see anyone looking out for our interests.
