Israeli Opera conductor Daniel Oren was born in Israel in 1955 and was a protégé of Leonard Bernstein.

Daniel Oren has agreed to work with the Israeli Opera and conduct "Tosca" for the 2008-2009 season.
This was agreed after Daniel Oren met with the Israeli Opera Director General Hanna Munitz after the two renewed their relationship after some crisis over a canceled trip by Oren to Israel.
