Islam on the March in Britain

From The Scotsman we have the story of Muslims wanting a Catholic School to start teaching Islam. (Hat Tip: Starboard).

The Campaign for Muslim Schools said 90 per cent of pupils at St Albert's Primary, in the Pollokshields area of Glasgow, are Muslim, yet children are having to take part in Catholic rituals like saying the Lord's Prayer and attending mass.

Osama Saeed, co-ordinator of the alliance of Glasgow's main mosques and Muslim organisations, said he could see no reason why the main faith of the school should not change.

He said: "Clearly the parents of that area find a faith school, even if it is of another denomination, preferable to a secular one. But surely it should be possible for them to have one that is relevant to their own faith.

It is possible, Mr. Saeed. Its called "Starting your own school." If 90% of the pupils are Muslim, you should have plenty to start up a school. What this is about is an attempt to obliterate Christianity.

If a Muslim School had 90% Christian students would Mr. Saeed see "no reason" while the school shouldn't start teaching Christianity. I somehow doubt it and would challenge him to find any Islamic school or cultural center which is taken such a tact.

Indeed, in most Muslim Countries finding out that 90% of a school's students is Christian is a reason to do things such as burning the village down, dragging parents before the secret police, or beheading. Tolerance is very much a one way street with Islam. They get it but they don't give it in any situation.

With 1 in 4 of Britain's sizeable Islamic population sympathizing and no effort being made withing the Islamic community to root out terrorism, isn't time for a show of good will from the Islamic Community?

Faith schools - of any type

Faith schools - of any type - should be banned. Go to school to learn to read and write.

If you come from a religious family then go to church/mosque/synagogue whatever to learn about religion and celebrate it however you see fit.

Christianity under attack, again?!

A Catholic school should stay Catholic if it is run and paid for by Catholics, no matter how many non-Catholics make up the school population. But I do not think this situation is an assault on Christianity. I understand the Islamic parents wanting their children to have Islamic instruction, so why enroll them in a Catholic school??? The logic defies me. Still, to think this is in the master plan to destroy Christianity is almost as laughable as this year's attack on Happy Holidays over Merry Christmas. Of all years to pull that attack. The one year that Hanakkah start Christmas night. Duh, of course Happy Holidays was particularly appropriate this year. It is astounding to me how Christians think their religion is under attack simply because there is a difference of opinion. Christians, stop singing "Onward Christian Soldiers," it must be creating a seige complex.

Islam does seek to obliterate Christianity, as does secularism in America. There are none so blind as those who refuse to see.

And what is stomping out the Jews and Moslems?

This idea that there is attack on Christianity divides people. It does nothing to help people understand, accept or love people – a supposed Christian value. I am trying to understand how Christianity is being attacked. Are people bombing churches like Christians bomb abortion clinics? (Oh, except predominantly black churches which is most likely done by that fine upstanding Christian organization the KKK) Do gays protest at straight weddings like Christians do at gay weddings? I can’t think of any other religion other than Christians who marginalize other fellow Christ worshipping sects such as Jehovah Witnesses and Mormons. Oh, and the mother attack of all – when the supposed second coming of Christ comes all who are not saved Christians are toast. That wipes out Islam, Judaism, Buddhism… who is attacking who ???????

This claim of attack on Christianity is a tactic of fear that smacks of televangelism. These preachers prey on fear to collect money from the fearful. Reach out to people who think differently than you and maybe the light will come on and evaporate your fear. You are safe to practice your religion. And we should be safe not to practice your religion.

There's a Difference

Between the judgment of God and the actions of madmen. Admittance to Heaven is not a Civil Right. As to Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses examine their doctrines, they don't teach Christ is who the Bible says he is.

Also, the KKK is not a Christian Conservative organization. Speaking of that, say hi to Senator Byrd next time he's at a Democratic meeting. ;)
