Is the NSA Different Than God?

As a fringe dweller, my mind often goes off on a likely errant path. Medication does not seem to help. So, when I hear all the 'ado' over the NSA and national security, and infringement of rights, and the like, I oddly go to the reported pervasiveness of god.
Why aren't people concerned about what their god hears or witnesses. Will not this stuff, and whatever infractions that this entails, get reported or added to the karma list? Does god gossip?
Is the NSA evil, while god is benevolent? If this is the case, then we as a people should be ok with sharing our deepest intimacies and secrets with the benign power, but not the evil one?
Perhaps this would explain why many people claim that they are unconcerned about what the NSA does. They see it as a benign authority.
I wonder if they are equally at peace with their god witnessing what it is they do in the privacy of their own often hypocritical lives.

"Im not doing anything wrong"...
so who cares if I am "surveiled?" Many have adopted this position. I think I call this complacency, which is extremely frightful.
