Is It My Imagination!?

[img_assist|fid=345|thumb=1|alt=pictue of a cartoon slug|caption=It's all a slug fest! And ain't nobody movin' too fast:)]

Is it my imatination that customer service is dead when it comes to computer tech support--and everything else in life? I'm getting a bit irritated (actually, it's more than just a bit)! I'd like to think of myself as computer savvy, but every now and then I'll come across a challenge that needs immediate attention.

Now, I'm not the kind of guy that likes to wait too long for an answer, and I hate it even more when a live body on the "other end" isn't available. It just doesn't make sense to me:( If I was a tech savvy as some of these sites wanted me to be: I wouldn't need the customer support in the first place****^##@!

Then there is that annoying animated voice on the other end of the phone when trying to reach a warm body, "IF YOU KNOW YOUR PARTY'S EXTENSION.....PLEASE DIAL 1."
Sigggghhhh! If I knew my party's extension---I'd call direct.

Then of course there are those folks that are burdened down with every type of communication device possible. I've seen them stand outside my office door---staring into space and moving as if in a daze. "Hah, I think to myself, I'll call the fella right now, I know he's not busy."

Sure enough, they won't answer the ring, buzz, page, bell, vibration.....or whatever is is that alerts them to put the seeker on hold.

I once asked a CEO of a company if he ever wondered how much business his company had lost since firing the front office secretary, and putting in the all-knowing new phone system! I got my butt in hot water over that one:)

Just wondering! And now it's back to the salt mines.
