-Hovering between heaven and hell

The salary still hasn’t issue on December. Contrary the government of town request teachers to persuade villagers hand up $5 for “village medication cooperation insurance�, every teacher must persuade 50 villagers, for those who unable finish it have to fill up for the rest of the amount.. one week time, Shu and teachers do it everyday after school but most of the villagers refuse to paid, January 15 year 2006 because they can’t finish their mission teachers filled up the total amount of $2100.

In a letter that Shu sent to the reporter, she wrote:� for the girls of 23 year old, how the wonderful world looks like? I never go through. For me a 23 year old girl, unceasing hovering between heaven and the hell…..now to me, the most important thing is to get my 3 months salary back, to live like a normal person life. That money is for my younger brothers, if unable to get the money back, I must think other way to earn money. But I really scared….the experience is even painful than cut off own body……I only wish to have a peaceful life, to depend on my salary to support family.�

Later this reporter intervenes to inquire, not only the problem of salary, Shu only gets pay of $300 since she became a certified teacher. At the time the local policy stated that the salary for teacher who graduated from secondary school is $300, college is $400 and for those serviced over 3 years only can get paid of $700. That is a poor agriculture town; the financial is harder especially when government canceled the agriculture duties recently, the town officer explained to reporter. The above policy cancelled in September year 2004, 46 teachers included Shu obtained their unpaid salary.

Shu is in home when she knows about this news, at that time she cries. Her first younger brother holds her hand with tears in eyes. But Shu cannot image if another two younger brothers in turn to get into university this year, what can she do with the school fees....?

“I am full of happiness, because I have the best mother and elder sister, the best father and two outstanding younger brothers.� Shu’s first younger brother said:� I feel lucky to live with family...�

*this is a true story, a lot of tragedies happen in the world everyday, the above just a single example. I hope societies realize exist of this tragedy. If we able to help someone, don’t let them wait.
