I love dark chocolate. I hear the hype about how it has antioxidants and all the health benefits of it. That's great, but...hmmm. The hype about dark chocolate having antioxidants is true, but don’t forget that dark chocolate is still chocolate.
It still has tons of sugar and fat and can STILL raise your cholesterol and blood sugar if you consume too much.
Having one piece of dark chocolate a day is fine and it IS healthy, but the problem is that people think that because of its high antioxidant level, they can eat as much as they want, and that is where they go wrong.
Yes, I understand that it is healthier than milk chocolate since milk chocolate does not have as much antioxidants.
I suggest having one piece of dark chocolate with some kind of fruit like strawberries. At least you’ll get the antioxidants from the berries too.
The acai berry from the rainforest in Brazil has 10 times as much antioxidants as any other food on this planet. Dip this berry in some dark chocolate and then I think it would be safe to go a little crazy with the dark chocolate once in a while.
