and I've read some other things. There's no way that I, a military kid, will ever associate the military with terrorism of any sort.

As it pertains to the CIA, though,... well, that one is tougher. I'm not going to say it in any form (tracking et al), but I will say that many of the positions and regimes that they've backed are suspect in the long run. It's almost acknowledged that they've backed some rather nefarious people throughout their history, and have probably tried to overthrow governments, which is supposedly against our Constitution.

I think recent events are leading to more scrutiny of the CIA, more accountability, and hopefully this will keep the CIA from being seen as a rogue organization.

I am not directly calling our soldiers terrorists, as they are following orders and serving our country trying to express their patriotism and level of commitment to their country. On the other hand the soldiers are and since WWI have been unknowingly doing the will of the terrorists that run our country.

Be not afraid, say what you wish, when you don't say what you want out of fear, you are empowering those who make you afraid. They are reliant on that fear. Your fear of repercussion from big brother still has negative repercussion on freedom and liberty. It may be what you say or how you say it that changes the world. Say not, then change not.

Dr. Livergood's Article never accuses the common soldier or citizen of anything but being duped continuously since WWI. Think about it, every soldier who has died in Vietnam, Afghanistan, WWI WWII, Panma, Kosovo, Kuwait, and now in Iraq, only died for a private business' control of the world's oil supply and shipping routes.

Are We STILL "Home of the Brave?"

we all acknowledge that we've had some bad leadership here and there, and that sometimes they've gotten us into some "interesting" skirmishes. However, it seems that for every bad one we get into, there's one where our participation was absolutely essential.

What I'm not crazy about is training others to fight their governments just because we don't like that particular government. Either we're totally in or we're totally out; that's how I see it.

because truthfully I don't think anyone really knows how the CIA operates, including the CIA director, who's always a political appointee. I hate to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but I do tend to believe that there are these "black ops" groups that the government supports, in its own way, that are also kind of rogue. Maybe it's too many movies, but who really knows, right?
