Investors Can't Run a Business

I don’t think my wife’s boss has good investor relations. He owns a business, but he has family members as investors. And now they are calling the shots. The sad thing is that I don’t think they know anything about running a business. She works in an office setting with three other girls. And now the investors want him to get rid of everybody but my wife. That means she would be doing the work of four people…without a raise.

The investors know how to save money, but they don’t understand that you need to keep your employees happy or else you won’t have any employees. And since the job takes quite a bit of training, you don’t want your only trained person to be strained with the job of four people. If she quits, then you’re pretty much up a creek. So just because you know how to save money, that doesn’t mean you know how to run a business. Sometimes, as cliché as it may sound, you have to spend money to save money. I just hope these guys can see that before it’s too late.
