Interesting Facts: The Hope Diamond

My mom always called me a Walking Dictionary. I collect all sorts of weird and interesting information. I guess that is why I became a writer. Today I found this story on a diamond jewelry store called Primestyle.com.
The Curse of the Hope Diamond
The legend claims that the Hope Diamond was cursed. The Hope Diamond is a large blue diamond that was stole from an idol of the Indian god Sita. The curse claims that bad luck will come to the diamond's owner, and all who touched it. Several centuries ago a man named Tavernier made a trip to India. While there, he stole the large blue, perfect, diamond from the forehead (eye) of the Hindu goddesses. According to legend, Tayernier was torn apart by wild dogs on a trip to Russia. This was the first horrible death attributed to the curse.
The diamond has had many owners since then, including King Louis XIV. In 1949 the diamond was purchased by Harry Winston, a New York jeweler. Winston repeatedly offered the diamond, to be worn by the rich and famous, as a method of raising money for charity. He later donated the diamond to the Smithsonian Institution in 1958 where it became the focal point of their rare gem collection. Some people say that he donated the diamond to rid himself of the curse.
Of course, you'll remember that I am looking for my 10th anniversary ring at online stores. I couldn't afford to pay 'brick and mortar' prices. This site had some very possible prospects. This site even has a testimonial, http://www.primestyle.com/testimonials.html site and some information to help me buy the best diamond in my price change.
