Intelligent Design Is A Huge Pile Of Shit

What does the big bang have to do with anything here? I mean, aside from the fact that science is beginning to disprove the big bang (big bang being heavily dependent on past observations of all clusters of matter, i.e. galaxies, accelerating away from all other such clusters and Hubble taking pictures where this is not the case), how does the big bang even come into the discussion?

Also, as I already stated, humans did not evolve from monkeys, no one says they did but you. Evolution certainly does not.

And, what does a Roman emperor dictating that a guess (a guess a number of years off, by the way) as to the day Jesus was born (not died, idiot... A.D. stands for Ano Domine, not After Death) should be the foundation for a new calendar system have to do with whether or not Jesus was the son of God? Does the existence of the Mayan calendar disprove Jesus was the son of God? Does the fact that English is the language of scholarship, science, diplomacy, and commerce prove that anything not originally written in English (such as the Bible) is hogwash?

Are you aware that the Bible was originally written by the Catholic church as a teaching tool? That the King James version you read has some very specific changes from the original version to try to make the Anglican church, which good old King Henry founded when the Catholic church would no longer grant him any more divorces, look like less of a farce? Your whole belief system is based on a huge set of lies and yet you believe you should force it on others through the education system in this country?

Are you aware that most Christians (the vast majority of Christians being Roman Catholic or Eastern Orthodox) believe that intelligent design is a giant pile of bullshit? That the pope himself has come out and made multiple statements against it because it has no foundation in truth?

I happen to believe that if there ever was a son of God to walk the earth then Jesus Christ was he, but that more importantly what God wants from people is not for them to buy into lies pushed by humans for profit but to live good lives. Forcing others to live their lives based on the lies you've been taken in by is not being a good person. God himself said in your very Bible that man was given free will to choose for himself, who the fuck are you to take that right away?

Sucks when something you said bites you in the ass

Since you like to claim that many of us are blindly following what others have told us, where did you get the information for this article? You claim that Intelligent Design is garbage. Where is your evidence to back it up? Did you actually do the study on this yourself or did you read someone else's research? You claim the Bible was written by the Catholic Church. Again, were you there to witness this event or did you actually do the study yourself? Most likely, you are using someone else's research, which would mean that you following what someone else told you.

In One Sense You Are Correct

I cannot personally attest to having witnessed something that happened more than a 1000 years ago.

However, you entirely miss the point. You might as well argue that I just accept what I'm told when I say that Michael Crichton wrote Sphere. Did I witness him doing so? Of course not. Is there documentation from multiple sources of this conclusion? Obviously. Is there any documentation supporting an alternative conclusion? Not that I can find. Is there any other reason to doubt the sources of what documentation there is supporting this conclusion? Nope. So, Michael Crichton wrote Sphere and the Catholic Church wrote the Bible.

Where is your evidence or

Where is your evidence or documentation that the Catholic church wrote the Bible? You keep making this claim, but you have yet to back it up.

My evidence?

It's general knowledge to everyone in the world except "Christians" in the United States. Now, let me perhaps clarify a little. The King James Bible that you probably have was written by a bunch of English folk commissioned by King James to give the Anglican Church some credibility. However, it was still based on the Catholic Bible (it's not like the Vatican opened up the Archives to a bunch of English Heretics so they could review the original texts). And, also let me clarify that when I say the Catholic Church wrote the Bible I mean that they compiled and edited and hand copied various historical texts to create a teaching tool for priests. As I've previously mentioned, a "Teacher's Edition."

And yet, that "general

And yet, that "general knowledge" as you call it had to be told to you by someone else. It wasn't like you just woke up one morning believing that the Catholic Church wrote the Bible. You are blindly following the teachings of someone else. If you disagree, please provide me with the reference where you learned this"general knowledge".

Oh, back to evidence...

After you learn ancient Greek and Hebrew so you can at least make a start, petition the Vatican for access to the Archives, and provide us both with an extended trip to Rome, I will show you exactly what the Bible was compiled from. Ok?

On your way...

To earning a Master's Degree from a Bible College they do not teach you any Bible History? Get your money back.

As I Said, Jackass

I did not witness the event, but it is well-documented by multiple sources. Since I happen to be a thinking person, I am able to determine that multiple independent sources of documentation based on reason are a good foundation for establishing fact. That I independently sought out and read multiple sources including all contradicting evidence available? Not just blindly following the teachings of someone else. Get it?
