Western KY has been seeing a large amount of Influenza type A in the last week. I guess it has finally made it to our area. There are a lot of children missing school.
It doesn't help that we've been having some really bad weather as well. After an extreme cold spell, we managed to hit up to 62 degrees for a few hours yesterday. Immediately tailing that was a windstorm that managed to do quite a bit of damage as well. Changing weather never helps when someone is sick.
The doctor's offices around here have been packed.
I didn't get a flu shot this season, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that we don't manage to stumble into it. We've actually managed to stay pretty healthy this winter.
If you get flu symptoms, I've heard that Tamiflu is supposed to help if you can get a prescription within the first 24 hours. I've also heard that a lot of doctors will put your family on it as well if you someone is diagnosed with the flu. Having the flu is rough, so if you have the chance to lighten the symptoms do it!
