Increasing Needs for Data Storage
I used to think that one gigabyte was a lot of computer memory. That was back in the day. Now I know that I can fill up one gigabyte of memory in a matter of days if I’m downloading music. When I had my DJ business, I had a lot of music on my computer. I had to buy an external hard drive to hold all of it. That was 80GB, and it’s full of mostly music. I have about 40,000 songs on it…pretty much anything you can think of up until the year 2000. My goal was to be able to play anything that anybody requested. I don’t think I ever had to tell anybody that I couldn’t play a song. Well, there was twice. Somebody requested “White Wedding” and I didn’t think that was appropriate. Another time, somebody requested “When I Think About Cheating” by Gretchen Wilson. I said I didn’t think that would be a good choice at a wedding reception.
