In Appreciation of Good Fathers.
Sadly, it seems that nowadays, good father (and oftentimes mother) figures are getting harder and harder to come by. So for all of those still walking the extra mile, sacrificing themselves, working hard and loving their children....I wish you a blessed and beautiful Father's Day.
My husband had to work today but got to spend the morning with our son and me. We had a great breakfast, gave daddy his gift and cards and just hung out as a family. I really admire my husband for so many reasons, but the one that really touches my heart is how amazing of a father he is. My husband never really knew his dad. He left the family when my husband was only 2, made a few brief visits and then died when my husband was in his early teens. He lived far away from his uncles and grandfather and really should have no idea what it takes to be a good & strong paternal figure, but it is inate in him.
He is loving, playful, thoughtful, concerned. He works so hard so that I can stay home with our son and still live comfortably. He rough & tumbles with our boy and provides him with so much affection. He worries about what he eats, if he watches too much TV and if he is sleeping enough. My husband is an awesome dad. It is in his nature to be an excellent father as he definitely did not learn to be one by example. And our son adores him.....it is beautiful to see. He is a lucky boy to have such a loving and involved daddy. I am a lucky woman to have such qualities in a partner.
So HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to my husband and all the other dads out there that deserve to be called "father's". Anyone can make a baby....but it takes someone very special to raise one.
