An affirmation is the act of affirming something (making something true). Affirmations can be written, spoken, or thought, or all of the above. I suggest you write yours, and read/say them outloud as often as possible. You can even think about them as you fall asleep.
My celebrity crush, Jim Carrey, used affirmations before he hit it big. He wrote himself a check for a million dollars and he looked at it everyday. He faked it till he made it. Now Jim Carrey is a star.
You can do the same. You can use this tool to improve ANY area of your life. I suggest you get some post-it notes and stick them to your bathroom mirror as a reminder.
Be sure to be as specific as possible. Remember to state things in the positive. Instead of saying "I am not sad" say "I am happy". You should eliminate negative words from your vocabulary because your subconscious ignores the negative and acts on whatever you tell it. If you say "I am not sad" your subconscious hears "I am sad" and will act accordingly.
You can use the following example affirmations, or you can make up your own.
Pertaining to money:
"I love my job"
"I can afford to donate my time and money to others"
"I have plenty of time and money"
"I attract money like a magnet"
"I love my new yellow VW Beetle" (or whatever car you want)
Pertaining to family:
"My parents are finally learning to trust me"
"My parents realize I am working hard"
"I get a long with (insert whoever's name here)"
Pertaining to Pets:
"Moe always pees outside where he is supposed to" (that was a joke!)
Pertaining to your health:
"I am strong and healthy"
"I have a strong immune system"
"I am at my perfect weight"
These are only examples. be creative. You can use affirmations to improve anything. Even relationships, and even if you are single. The possibilities are endless.
