I have come across a problem in my house. It is one that annoys me completely. It's one thing to mess with my kids, or even my hubby. But when somebody messes with my music, thats it, the shit just hit the fan.
It seems as if every time I want to listen to a specific cd, I am all hyped up, already humming the songs. I grab the cd, open the case, and the music dies. The cd is not here in the case. Then comes the task of remembering who borrowed my cd. Of course each and every one you ask didn't borrow it.
I went to listen to some old Poisen-Greatest Hits 86-96, because I heard a promo for the group coming here to KC, and it made me want to listen to the cd. Well, it's one that is missing from the case. I am almost sure my daughter borrowed it, and when I asked her, "no, I didn't borrow it". Nobody in this house likes Poisen except her and I. I already checked my hubby's van and it isn't there, but I found some other cd's(Sublime) that were,so I borrowed them.
So I came up with this grand idea, only I am sure it was thought of long before my blonde self came up with it. I am going to import all my cd's that people borrow or like to listen to, that may potentially come up missing in the future, to my ITunes catalogue. Why didn't I think of this sooner?! Then if someone has the certain cd I want to listen too, viola!!! I can still listen to it. I dont think my family realizes that with out my music, I could seriously have a major attitude problem. Not to mention I have alot of money invested in my cd's. I prefer to buy my cd's as I like to read all the information on the sleeves. I do have a few burned cd's, but I prefer the originals. I consider this a hobby, because outside of my family and friends, I dont love anything more than I do music, so I would like to keep my collection in tact. I guess I could be a royal bitch and just not loan them out, but I like to share, especially something I love as much as music. I am glad to have this import feature, it took long enough to figure out that I could do this, duh, but glad now that I know.
