Immigration: Both Sides Sharpen Knives

Radreview's picture

Now that most Americans are being made much more aware of the stealth invasion of their country, it is time to look at some particulars.

First, the web site Immigration Watchdog is actually monitoring what the pro-immigrant tidal wave is washing up on shore, and not all of it is rosy optimistic traditional American thought on immigration history and how the nation was built on it. In fact, some rather eye-opening comments about how immigrants will "defend their country" against Anglos and anyone else who interferes appear to dominate that landscape.

And it seems that pro-illegal alien groups are going after Lou Dobbs of CNN and other major communicasters who talk a hard line on immigration. Afternoon talk-show host Michael Savage has long been targeted by Latino immigration groups and has thus far fought back charges of racism and bias in his "language, borders and culture" philosophy.

But it's getting crazy. The latest protest wave in the wake of Congress' failure to enact a decent immigration-reform package has now escalated into talk of pushing a general strike in Los Angeles on May 1 by blocking major thoroughfares and threatening to shut down major business arteries. This is bad and getting worse.

Pro-immigrant groups such as MEChA are running for cover after years of being virtually ignored by mainstream American media. Now with the press fully aroused, especially talk radio, MEChA is fighting what it calls "smears" as are other pro-Latino organizations, including at least one Latino-owned Internet access company.

There is no denying that relaxing immigration in any way will rapidly expand immigration's impact on jobs; that is, leave less and less for legal citizens to access in the way of decent employment.

However, the sheer numbers of illegals in the U.S. preclude any drastic action. It is almost as if Americans have been fattened for the slaughter, starting with greedy employers who feast off cheap foreign labor.

There's the problem. American capitalism is starting to eat itself.
