I can't remember the last time I saw a black music video where the leading lady is a dark skin black woman. She always seems to be a light skin black, a hispanic, mixed or white. It sickens me that black people and society in general feel that unless you have light skin, nice hair and colored eyes that you're not viewed as beautiful. This is a ridiculous notion and quite frankly, a thorn in my ass. How many times have I heard the phrase "you're pretty to be dark skin", As if being dark is some ugly curse that some African Americans have had put upon them. Am I suppose to feel flattery that I'm pretty to be a dark skin black? How many more decades will it take for this world that we live in to see that beauty comes in all colors and to narrow it down to one is just so tired and played already.

I completely agree with you

It is sad that we have not come further than that in this world we live in. I am annoyed with that concept and I am a white girl. Too me though, I still cant believe that color makes a difference about the beauty of a person, let alone the fact that they would be light or dark skinned. If I see a goodlooking black man, I dont go "oh this one is alot cuter than him because he has light skin". Nice looking is nice looking, bottom line is what kind of person is he? That is my thought process anyway. I hear what your saying.
