I Found PLASTIC in Gerber Baby Food

My daughter has started eating solids some. To save time, I've been using jars of Gerber baby food that my mom gave me some months ago because my niece wouldn't eat them.

Today I dump a little bit in a bowl and get to feeding her. It's Apple Banana or some such and oh does she love it! All of a sudden, though, there's a piece of plastic on the spoon. About an inch and a half long and an inch wide. Gross!

I immediately threw it away along with the rest of the jar, of course! I wonder what would have happened if I didn't notice it? If my daughter choked on it?

It's not the first time I've found plastic in baby food. I once found some plastic strips in Gerber products, too. It was one of those plastic containers, though, and it resembled the plastic lid. This time, though, it was a glass jar and I'm making no excuses!

What scares me the most is how rarely I even use store bought baby food and this has already happened at least twice! Are babies being fed plastic on a daily basis?

How strange! So what do you plan to do?

I wonder if all the negative publicity from the "Found a finger in my chili" fiasco affects the way companies deal with similar compalints now...

plastic in baby food

I'm kind of a wuss, so I didn't call. My hubby suggested I write a letter, but I don't know if I could write pen on paper anymore. I sent them an angry email about it. I guess we'll see if they respond!

they should contact you..

They should contact you back because of the email, they should replace the value of the product and above.
Most companies replace the value of the product by 3 or 4 times and apologise profusely.
That's scary stuff. If there's no quality control on baby food, what kind of world is this?

MAKE SURE YOU CONTACT GERBERS! That's horrible and authorities need to be told. One would expect to have better quality control at a place like GERBERS. Get a good food processor and make your own.
