How to stop the telemarketing calls

If you are like me, your phone rings off the hook with calls from telemarketers.

These telemarketers have been trained to not stop talking. And did you know that if you just hang up on them, alot of companies will put you on their list to call back later? Hanging up does not stop the calls. You are supposed to tell them you are not interested and not to call back. But even than, some companies still keep calling.

There are some ways to fight back.

Visit https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx
to get your phone number on the do not call registry. They are managed by the FTC. After 31 days, the telemarketing calls should stop. If they don't, you can return to this website and file a complaint.

I think bellsouth has something that you can add to your line that will require someone calling with an unknown number to say there name and you than you have the option to approve the call or not. I know there is a fee for this, but if interested you should contact bellsouth.

If you should answer the phone and it's a telemarketer, find out there company name and address. Than let them know you are not interested. If they keep calling, you will have the name and address to file a complaint with.

I hope these tips help you. Some days, my phone rings off the wall with calls from telemarketers.

Luckily I don't get many, but when I do I just tell them I'm not interested and hang up.
