The second pointer is to look around and be very thorough in your search for your choice of an affiliate program and product to sell. Do not be convinced by the first thing you read and waste your time and money on promoting it. Be slow in your search for a product to market.

Also, if it is at all possible, try to find an affiliate program that has second tier commissions. This can make you more money even when you are not working! Recurring commissions, such as a commission earned each month of a subscription, are awesome too. A program like this means that one referral can give you several hundred or maybe even thousands of dollars.
