How to Choose Keywords
To continue our boring, but oh so important theme on keywords, I want to discuss 'high paying keywords' and how they can actually cost you money.
First, I am going to assume that you use your blog titles, keywords, and tags to bring adsense ads to your site that people will actually want to click on.
If you are just blogging away, with no concern for who is reading your blog, what they might want to buy, what services they need, - then you probably have a Google Adsense account balance of .01
However, there are a lot of people out there earning 'real' money from their blog. At the risk of sounding like John, 'there is a skill involved.'
Some people think that websites and blogs which are created to earn Google Adsense money are spam. They are not IF there are clicks. A site that earns hundreds of clicks has helped hundreds of web surfers find the information they wanted.
This brings me to the topic of high paying keywords. I don't suggest using them. I have some blogs that by default have keywords that have a PPC value of $42.00. However, I only make .93 of that money. At first, I thought it was because my site was not considered expert.
So, I linked to expert resources, I continued themes turning the blog into a 'resource' for people needing that information - still, I only earned .93 cents.
Now, I have other blogs where I earn .05 cents per click. These sites receive twice the views, twice the hits, so I actually make more.
The site with the high click ads www.healthafter40.blogspot.co
I have another blog where people click through more often, so I receive more money in the long run.
