Some of you are reading my title and probably wondering if it's really possible. Can you homeschool your child for less than $20.00 a month? Yes, it's true. I only pay $19.95 per month to homeschool my first grade child.
The online curriculum we use meets all national standards. They offer homeschooling for grades Pre-K through eighth. We have been homeschooling with them for over four months now, and I am very satisfied with the curriculum. And my son's grades.
My sons first grade lessons are very solid and packed full of educational material. He logs in with his very own username and password. The curriculum keeps track of what he's completed and where he left off. It covers Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Other things like handwriting, etc we do offline. As with any online homeschooling program, there will be things that have to be done offline.
I have checked out a few online curriculums. Most were very expensive. One I looked at was over $1000 for the school year. The curriculum I use is just as good, if not better. And it is way more affordable. Plus, it includes free worksheets!
The parent forum on their website has been very helpful. There have been times I've checked it out before asking a question, just to find that my question has already been answered. It's amazing to see how many parents use Time4learning.com.
For his first grade Language Arts, it is full of phonics lessons. The phonics have really been a big help in developing his reading skills. What kid can resist such fun and entertaining lessons?
The curriculum keeps track of the grades and progress reports. As a parent, this is one of my favorite features.
Although I have been compensated for this post, the words are entirely my own. We've really enjoyed using the curriculum!
