Health Care Products: Cure-All or Snake Oil?
During a recent Googling expedition,I ventured into the uncertain maze of health care products, vitamins, potions and cure-alls. Scary territory. Everything from noni juice to weight loss pills......and all claiming to be the best deal for your money, the oldest, newest, most potent, or fastest working health care product on the market. What are we to believe? How can they all be miracle working wonders?
It seems they are all laboratory tested, doctor approved, worked miracles in clinical trials and endorsed by every Tom, Dick and Harry you can name. We all want to believe that there is an answer to our problem out there, whether our trouble is a minor skin blemish or cancer. Our American "I want it now" society demands a tangible solution to every situation. And it seems we are willing to gullibly spend millions of dollars on products with high sounding claims. Too many times these claims have no basis in fact. I have been as guilty as anyone, purchasing product after product, hoping to find the one that "really works."
All this serves to keep the people in the health care product industry happy. In fact, they are laughing all the way to the bank.
